Gardener dies after electric shock in Rajarhat, family alleges foul play

Tragedy struck in Rajarhat's Jhaligachhi area on Thursday night when a young gardener, identified as Shubho Sardar (22), lost his life in a suspicious incident. Shubho, a resident of the Ghazipur area in Bhangar, worked in a local nursery garden where, according to his colleagues, he sustained an electric shock while working. However, as the investigation progresses, the circumstances around his death appear increasingly mysterious.

According to the nursery garden workers, Shubho was injured by an electric shock and was quickly transported to Rekjoyani Hospital by four employees. But upon examination, doctors at the hospital declared him dead. Following this revelation, the workers left the hospital abruptly, leaving Shubho’s body behind. Their hasty departure raised suspicions among the family and the police. Soon after, Shubho’s father arrived at the hospital and attempted to inform the rest of the family of the tragic news. The family has since alleged that, in a shocking turn of events, the nursery workers assaulted Shubho’s father, snatched his phone, and prevented him from making any calls.

The family of the deceased has raised concerns about the legitimacy of the nursery workers' version of events. They strongly suspect foul play and claim that Shubho’s death was not an accident but rather a murder driven by an unknown motive. Subsequently, Shubho’s family lodged a formal complaint at the Rajarhat police station, accusing the nursery employees of murder and highlighting the alleged assault on his father as an attempt to cover up the incident.

In response, the Rajarhat police have initiated an investigation to determine whether Shubho's death was indeed caused by electrocution or if there are underlying factors pointing to a planned conspiracy. Preliminary reports indicate that the police are treating this case with caution, suspecting that there might be more to the story than what the nursery workers have claimed. An autopsy is expected to provide further clarity on the cause of death and help confirm or dispel the family’s suspicions of murder.
